New Delhi:Â Arvindar Singh Sahney is set to be appointed as the upcoming Director (Planning and Business Development) of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) subject to approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). His name has been suggested for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel. He was recommended for the role from a list of 12 candidates who were interviewed by the PESB.
Sahney presently serves as the Executive Director (Planning and Business Development) at IOCL. He has extensive experience in the energy sector and has held various leadership roles within IOCL, contributing to the company’s growth and development across different operational areas. As the Executive Director, he was responsible for overseeing strategic planning, project implementation, and team management. His focus areas include energy transition, decarbonization, green hydrogen, carbon capture, and petrochemical projects.
The Indian Oil Corporation Limited is a ‘Maharatna’ PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. It is the country’s biggest government-owned oil producer. The company focuses on the entire hydrocarbon value chain, including refining, pipeline, marketing of petroleum products, exploration and manufacturing of petroleum, natural gas, and petrochemicals.
