New Delhi, April 8 (APAC Media): V.T.V. Ramana has officially taken charge as the Director General of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) on April 8, 2026. The appointment comes under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
With this development, Ramana is set to lead NIC’s role in strengthening India’s digital governance framework and advancing e-governance initiatives across the country.
The National Informatics Centre (NIC), functioning under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, is a government body responsible for driving India’s e-governance and digital transformation initiatives. Established in 1976, NIC provides technology support to central and state governments, enabling delivery of digital services, development of IT infrastructure, and implementation of key platforms that power governance, data management, and citizen-centric services across the country.
