Mumbai: Google Pay has launched six additional features for users at the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai to enhance the payment experience for users. These features that will be made available to users later this year include UPI Circle, UPI Vouchers or eRupi, ClickPay QR scan for bill payments, prepaid utilities payments, Tap and Pay with RuPay cards, and Autopay for UPI Lite.
The new features will offer the following facilities to the customers:
- UPI Circle will enable users to make digital payments without needing to link their bank account either through partial delegation or full delegation by the primary customer. Under partial delegation, a primary user will approve each payment started by a secondary user whereas under full delegation the primary user can set an amount limit for the secondary user to make payments within that limit.
- UPI Vouchers will allow users to pay digitally by offering them a prepaid voucher linked to their mobile number. Users will be able to redeem vouchers on any UPI app without needing to link their bank accounts.
- ClickPay QR, launched by Google Pay in collaboration with NPCI Bharat BillPay, will enable users to pay their bills on the app by just scanning a ClickPay QR, without having to remember bill account details.
- The prepaid utilities payments feature will help users make recurring utility payments seamlessly by just linking their energy accounts.
- Tap-and-Pay feature for RuPay cards will enable RuPay cardholders to add their card to Google Pay and simply tap their mobile phone to any card machine to pay.
- UPI Lite will ease payments for small-ticket purchases or transfers with autopay enabling automatic top-ups for UPI Lite accounts in case the balance falls short.
