Bengaluru: MathWorks and NXP Semiconductors have launched a Model-Based Design Toolbox (MBDT) to streamline the development of Battery Management Systems (BMS) for electric vehicles. The new tool works with MATLAB and Simulink, helping engineers create, test, and deploy BMS algorithms more efficiently.
The toolbox allows users to automatically generate C code for NXP processors, eliminating the need for manual coding and speeding up the testing process. By simulating different driving scenarios and environmental conditions, engineers can fine-tune BMS algorithms early in development, reducing potential issues later on.
A key feature of this toolbox is its ability to connect directly to hardware prototypes, providing real-time feedback during testing. This helps engineers quickly assess system performance and make necessary adjustments. With the elecalltric vehicle market expanding, this new tool aims to help automotive companies bring safer and more reliable battery solutions to market faster.
