New Delhi: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and BEML Limited have signed an agreement to collaborate on leadership and technical training programs aimed at enhancing skills in the defence and heavy engineering sectors.
Focus on Skill Development
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), HAL Management Academy (HMA) will develop training modules for BEML professionals. The training will include induction programs, management training, and specialized courses in Six Sigma, Quality, Reliability, Data Analytics, and Industry 4.0.
The collaboration also plans to introduce industrial visits, joint conferences, and project-based learning initiatives.
Industry-Academia Collaboration
The MoU was signed by Dr. Srikantha Sharma, Executive Director of HMA, and Monideepa Roy, Head of Talent Management at BEML, in the presence of senior officials from both companies. HAL Director (HR) A.B. Pradhan and BEML Director (HR) Debi Prasad Satpathy highlighted the need for continuous skill development to meet evolving industry demands.
This partnership aligns with India’s push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing by equipping professionals with updated technical and managerial expertise. The initiative also underscores the growing emphasis on industry-academia collaborations in public sector enterprises.
By focusing on structured learning programs, HAL and BEML aim to enhance workforce capabilities, contributing to efficiency and innovation in India’s defence and heavy engineering sectors.
The training programs will cater to professionals at various levels, from new recruits to senior management, ensuring a structured approach to skill enhancement. Additionally, the collaboration will facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and internships, fostering practical learning.
