Once compromised, scammers can gain access to personal details, banking information, and even conduct unauthorized transactions.
Bogus Flower Shops and Non-Existent Deals: Flowers, especially roses, remain one of the most popular Valentine’s Day gifts, with around 250 million roses sold annually for the occasion. Scammers capitalize on this demand by creating fake flower shop websites featuring too-good-to-be-true discounts. Unlike phishing scams that mimic established retailers, these fraudulent stores appear as independent businesses, luring shoppers into paying for flowers that are never delivered.
Tech Gift Scams on the Rise: With smart home gadgets and personal electronic devices becoming trendy Valentine’s Day gifts, scammers are exploiting this trend as well. Fake websites advertising well-known technology brands at discounted prices for Valentine’s promotions are being used to trick consumers.
