Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has invited applications for 55 industrial plots in designated zones along the Yamuna Expressway, aiming to promote eco-friendly manufacturing in Gautam Buddh Nagar and Bulandshahr districts.
The scheme, launched by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), targets industries in the non-polluting category. This includes sectors such as toys, furniture, and apparel manufacturing areas aligned with the state’s One District One Product (ODOP) initiative and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ecosystem.
Plots have been earmarked across Sectors 29, 32, and 33 to support the planned Phase-1 development of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Area. The move is also part of the broader Master Plan-2041, which outlines a long-term vision for industrial and urban growth in the region.
Plot Sizes and Pricing
Interested industrial players can apply for plots up to 8,000 square meters in size, with the application window open until 29 May. Prices start at Rs 64.16 lakh, with the largest plots costing up to Rs 22.91 crore. Larger plots have been reserved for specialised clusters like toy and apparel parks.
E-Auction to Ensure Transparency
YEIDA will allocate the plots through an e-auction process, expected to conclude by early July. Only plots receiving three or more valid applications will proceed to auction. In cases where a plot receives a single bid, the applicant’s deposit and associated fees will be refunded.
Policy Implications
The scheme reflects the state government’s continued emphasis on decentralising industrial growth while avoiding high-pollution industries. By focusing on small-scale, non-polluting sectors, the policy aligns with national and state-level environmental and economic goals.
The move also highlights UP’s strategy to gradually expand its industrial base through planned development zones without compromising ecological standards.
