Bengaluru: The Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Karnataka, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State of Berlin, marking a significant advancement in the Indo-German innovation partnership initiated in 2022.
The strategic alliance aims to create transformative opportunities for startups, researchers and technology enterprises across both regions.
As part of this strengthened partnership, Berlin will establish its India headquarters in Bengaluru, a move that reinforces Karnataka’s position as a global hub for innovation.
Key areas of collaboration under the MoU include:
- Startup soft-landing and market access facilitation
- FinTech and digital innovation initiatives
- AI research and development partnerships
- Talent mobility and knowledge exchange programs
- Joint events and sectoral delegations
Describing the MoU as a commitment to fostering cross-border innovation networks, the Karnataka government emphasized that the collaboration will provide Berlin’s startup ecosystem access to Karnataka’s thriving tech environment, while also enabling Karnataka-based innovators to explore opportunities in the European market.
According to the department, this partnership is about building bridges and the initiative will help startups, talent and industries grow within a globally connected innovation ecosystem.
