HCA Healthcare Inaugurates First Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: U.S.-based HCA Healthcare has inaugurated its first global capability centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, marking its entry into India with a commitment to create 3,000 jobs by 2026.

Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu inaugurated the facility at Raidurg, a hub for tech-driven companies.

$75 Million Investment Planned

Spread across more than 4 lakh sq. ft. over four floors, the Hyderabad GCC will see an investment of $75 million by 2025. The centre has already onboarded about 1,100 employees and aims to close the year with 1,300 staff. By next year, HCA plans to double the headcount and eventually expand the workforce to 3,000.

Strategic Choice of Hyderabad

HCA Healthcare’s decision to locate its first GCC in Hyderabad underscores the city’s growing stature as a global hub for technology and life sciences. Company executives noted that Hyderabad’s world-class infrastructure, strong talent base, and thriving healthcare and life sciences ecosystem played a decisive role.

Minister Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad serves as a gateway to a complete healthcare ecosystem, with world-class hospitals and more than 800 pharma companies producing APIs, biologics, specialty medicines, and vaccines, along with leading global GCCs driving R&D and innovation.

Expanding Role Beyond IT and Finance

Initially, the GCC will focus on IT, finance, supply chain, procurement, human resources, and accounting. Over time, the facility is expected to expand into advanced areas, including artificial intelligence, analytics, and other innovation-driven tasks. HCA executives indicated that the scope of work at the Hyderabad centre would grow well beyond the initial operations, with prospects of more investments depending on future requirements.

HCA Healthcare’s Global Presence

Founded in 1968 as the Hospital Corporation of America, HCA Healthcare operates a network of 192 hospitals and 2,500 care sites across the U.S. and the U.K. The Fortune 100 company employs 3.16 lakh professionals worldwide and reported revenues of $70 billion.

Senior Vice-President of HCA’s Global Capability Network Emily Duncan and Vice-President and Hyderabad Centre Head Atul Kapoor highlighted that the facility is poised to become a key contributor to the company’s global innovation and operational excellence strategy.

With the launch of its Hyderabad GCC, HCA Healthcare joins a growing list of multinational firms leveraging the city as a strategic hub for digital transformation, healthcare technology, and global operations support.
