Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government carried out a significant administrative reshuffle on Monday evening, transferring 16 IAS officers and reassigning key positions, including the divisional commissioners of Lucknow, Prayagraj and Bareilly.
IAS Vijay Vishwas Pant has been named the new divisional commissioner of Lucknow, replacing IAS Roashan Jacob.
IAS Jacob, who served a long tenure in the post, will now take charge as secretary and commissioner of the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department. The department’s principal secretary, IAS Rajan Kumar, will henceforth handle only the Ayush Department.
IAS Kinjal Singh, earlier director general of medical education, has been appointed transport commissioner. He succeeds IAS Brijesh Narayan Singh, who moves to the post of secretary in the General Administration Department ahead of his retirement later this month.
IAS Soumya Agarwal, divisional commissioner of Bareilly, will now serve as divisional commissioner of Prayagraj, while IAS Anamika Singh, currently secretary of forest, environment and climate change and CEO of the UP Clean Air Management Project Authority, takes charge as divisional commissioner of Bareilly.
In the education sector, IAS Kanchan Verma, director general of school education, has been shifted to the Board of Revenue as commissioner and secretary. IAS Monica Rani, special secretary of basic education and additional director general of school education, will replace her.
IAS Aparna U, secretary of medical education, has received additional responsibility as director general of medical education.
Other notable changes include IAS Suhas L.Y., secretary of sports and youth welfare, getting an additional charge as director general of youth welfare and the Prantiya Rakshak Dal.
The outgoing officer, IAS Chaitra V, becomes the director general of AYUSH. IAS Sanjay Kumar Khatri, ACEO Noida, will also serve as in-charge CEO of the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority. IAS Rajesh Kumar II, commissioner of food safety and drug administration, has been appointed director general of tourism.
Additionally, IAS Manisha Trighatia, commissioner and secretary of the Board of Revenue, will now be secretary of the Women and Child Development and Nutrition Department, replacing IAS B. Chandrakala. Chandrakala has been moved as secretary of forest, environment and climate change and will also serve as CEO of the UP Clean Air Management Project Authority.
