Bhubaneshwar: The Odisha state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, cleared a Rs 17,250 crore proposal by the Kalyani Group to set up an integrated manufacturing complex in Dhenkanal district, giving a major boost to high-value manufacturing in the state.
Approved under special provisions of the Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR) 2022, the multi-product industrial cluster will come up over nearly 1,100 acres at Gajamara. The project will focus on advanced manufacturing across automotive, aerospace, defence and speciality materials segments.
As part of the complex, Kalyani Steels Limited will establish an integrated speciality steel unit with a capacity of 7 lakh tonnes per annum, along with a 10,000 TPA titanium alloy manufacturing facility. The cluster will also house a super alloy unit of Saarloha Advanced Materials Pvt Ltd and casting and forging facilities of Bharat Forge and its subsidiaries, Chief Secretary Anu Garg said.
Planned as an integrated cluster with shared infrastructure and vendor parks, the project aims to strengthen downstream value chains, improve competitiveness and reduce import dependence in strategic sectors. It is expected to generate over 4,800 direct jobs and more than 5,500 indirect jobs initially, with total employment projected to cross 20,000 as the ecosystem expands.
To support the investment, the state government has approved a special incentive package, including a 45 per cent capital investment subsidy on plant and machinery.
