New Delhi, May 18 (APAC Media): The Marshall Islands-flagged LPG carrier Symi, carrying 19,965 metric tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for India, berthed safely at Kandla Port on May 16 and has completed the full discharge of its cargo, officials said.
“The vessel Symi, carrying 19,965 metric tonnes of LPG cargo for India, berthed at Kandla on May 16 and has completed the discharge of the entire cargo,” Mukesh Mangal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, said.
Mangal further said that Indian seafarers in the region remain safe, with no incidents reported over the past 96 hours.

“All Indian seafarers in the region are safe, with no incidents reported in the past 96 hours,” he added.
The Ministry also said it has intensified efforts to ensure the safe return of Indian seafarers stranded in the Gulf region.
“India has adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, LPG and natural gas, and there is no need for panic as the supply of all essential fuels continues normally,” said Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary.
“The Ministry has facilitated safe repatriation of more than 3,217 Indian seafarers so far, including 61 in the last 96 hours from various locations across the Gulf region,” Mangal added.
Officials said port operations across the country continue to remain normal, with no congestion reported at any major facility.
