Raipur, May 18 (APAC Media): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday launched the new “Jan Jan Suvidha Kendra” model from Netanar in Bastar during his two-day visit to Chhattisgarh.
The initiative, developed by the Chhattisgarh government, aims to provide essential government and welfare services directly to people living in remote villages that have long lacked access to administrative offices, healthcare, banking and digital facilities.
The move comes as the Centre intensifies efforts towards achieving a “Naxal-free India” by March 31 next year.
Under the new model, selected security camps in remote areas will be converted into integrated public service centres offering multiple government facilities under one roof.
These centres will provide Common Service Centre (CSC) based facilities including Aadhaar updates, banking services, applications for income, caste and domicile certificates, ration card services, Ayushman Bharat cards, e-Shram registration, electricity bill payments, railway and bus ticket booking, along with printing, scanning and other digital services.
Officials said the initiative is expected to significantly benefit tribal communities in Bastar, where access to banks, hospitals, internet services and government offices remains limited. By bringing these facilities closer to villages, the government aims to reduce hardship, improve transparency and strengthen digital inclusion in the region.
The centres will also provide basic healthcare services including vaccination, maternal and child healthcare support, nutrition programmes and malaria control initiatives. Officials noted that the model could improve healthcare access for pregnant women, children and elderly residents living in remote villages far from hospitals.
‘Dial 112’ Emergency Helpline Number
During his visit, Amit Shah also launched Chhattisgarh Police’s next-generation Dial-112 emergency response service and flagged off 400 advanced emergency response vehicles along with 32 mobile forensic vans in Raipur.
The mobile forensic vans, launched under the theme “Science on Wheels – Towards Faster Justice”, are aimed at strengthening scientific and evidence-based investigation across all districts of the state.
Officials said the initiative will allow preliminary forensic examinations to be conducted directly at crime scenes, helping improve the speed and accuracy of investigations.
