Noida, May 18 (APAC Media): India’s seafood exports have reached an all-time high of ₹72,000 crore, marking a significant milestone for the country’s marine export sector, according to official government data.
Export volumes also recorded robust growth, rising to 19.32 lakh metric tonnes during the period under review, reflecting sustained global demand for Indian seafood products across key international markets.
Frozen shrimp remained the dominant export item, contributing ₹47,973 crore and continuing to anchor India’s seafood export basket as the single largest commodity in the segment.
An official statement said, “The record performance reflects the resilience of India’s seafood sector, supported by improved supply chain efficiency, expansion of aquaculture production, and consistent demand from major importing countries.”
