New Delhi, May 19 (APAC Media): The National AI Doctors Mission (NAIDM) was launched during Health AI Con 2026, marking a significant step towards integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into India’s healthcare ecosystem.Â
The initiative aims to train medical professionals across the country in AI applications, clinical practice, and the ethical use of digital healthcare tools.
NAIDM is a doctor-led initiative conceptualised by Medical Dialogues in collaboration with the National Medical Forum. The mission seeks to equip India’s medical fraternity with AI knowledge, practical skills, and an ethical framework to ensure responsible and effective use of emerging technologies in healthcare.
The programme focuses on areas such as machine learning, medical imaging analysis, decision-support systems, and digital triage tools. With AI rapidly transforming global healthcare, the mission aims to address the growing need for standardised AI training, governance norms, and clinical accountability in India.
The initiative aligns with flagship national programmes, including Digital India, the National Digital Health Mission, and the vision of Viksit Bharat. It also complements the regulatory role of the National Medical Commission in overseeing medical education and standards in the country.
NAIDM is expected to strengthen AI literacy among doctors while promoting safe, equitable, and ethical use of AI in clinical settings.
