Noida, Oct 5 (APAC Media): Gold prices remained elevated in the domestic market on Monday, while silver continued to trade at high levels amid global economic uncertainty and shifting expectations over interest rates.
According to bullion market data, 24-carat gold was quoted at around ₹149,540 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at approximately ₹137,078 per 10 grams. Silver of 999 purity was priced at nearly ₹226,770 per kilogram.
In Mumbai, 24-carat gold was available at about ₹149,270 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was quoted at ₹136,831. Silver stood at around ₹226,360 per kg.
In the national capital, 24-carat gold was priced at nearly ₹149,010 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹136,593. Silver was quoted at approximately ₹225,970 per kg.

Prices varied across other major markets. Bengaluru recorded 24-carat gold at around ₹149,380 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹136,932. In Kolkata, the corresponding rates were about ₹149,070 and ₹136,648.
Chennai remained among the markets reporting relatively higher rates, with 24-carat gold at approximately ₹149,700 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹137,225. Silver in the city was quoted near ₹227,020 per kg.
Gold and silver futures also remained active on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Gold futures traded around ₹1.48 lakh per 10 grams, while silver futures were near ₹2.26 lakh per kg during the trading session.
Analysts said bullion prices continue to be influenced by global geopolitical developments, movements in the US dollar and expectations surrounding interest-rate decisions. Gold, in particular, tends to attract investor demand during periods of economic and geopolitical uncertainty.
Retail jewellery prices, however, may differ from benchmark bullion rates. The final price paid by consumers can include GST, making charges, taxes and jeweller-specific premiums.
Market participants are expected to monitor upcoming economic data, central-bank policy signals and geopolitical developments for further direction in precious-metal prices.
