New Delhi, October 6(APAC Media): Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has launched two new motorcycles in India. The Honda XR300L and XR300 Rally are priced at Rs 1.83 lakh and Rs 2.08 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
The launch gives Honda a new entry in India’s growing lightweight adventure and dual-sport motorcycle market. The two bikes use the same engine and platform but are aimed at slightly different riding requirements.
Honda XR300L And XR300 Rally Engine
Both motorcycles get a 286cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing around 24.3 hp and 26.5 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The XR300L follows a more off-road-focused setup, while the XR300 Rally gets additional bodywork, a larger front fairing and a taller windscreen for better touring comfort.
Features And Hardware
The motorcycles come with long-travel suspension, upside-down front forks, a rear monoshock, disc brakes at both ends, dual-purpose tyres and wire-spoke wheels. Their relatively light construction is aimed at making them easier to handle on trails as well as in everyday riding conditions.
Honda XR300L Vs Rivals
The XR300L enters a space that includes motorcycles such as the Kawasaki KLX 230 and Hero Xpulse 210. The XR300 Rally also overlaps with more touring-focused models such as the KTM 250 Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan.
The key difference is positioning. The XR300L focuses more heavily on off-road riding, while the Rally version adds equipment aimed at longer road journeys. At their respective prices, the two Honda motorcycles give buyers another option between smaller dual-sport bikes and heavier adventure motorcycles.
