Bengaluru: In a recent bureaucratic reshuffle, the Karnataka government has transferred two senior IAS officers and assigned them new secretary-level responsibilities with immediate effect. Accordingly, IAS Salma K. Fahim (2006 batch), who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Secretary of the Labour Department, Bengaluru.
Fahim takes over the role from IAS Mohammad Mohsin, who was holding an additional charge of the department. She will continue in the position until further orders. Along with the Labour Department, Fahim has also been given concurrent charge as Secretary of the Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department, Bengaluru. The post was earlier held by IAS Kanaga Valli M.
IAS Kanaga Valli M. (2010 batch) has now been transferred and posted as Secretary of the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs and Legal Metrology Department, Bengaluru. She succeeds IAS Dr. Prasad N.V., who was managing the department as a concurrent responsibility.
In addition to her new role, Kanaga Valli has been entrusted with the concurrent charge of Managing Director of the Karnataka State Medical Supplies Corporation Limited (KSMSCL), Bengaluru. The appointment takes effect immediately and will remain in force until further orders.
The reshuffle is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to streamline administrative functioning across key departments.
