Gururgam, May 18(CXO Media): Samsung India has elevated Shirish Agarwal as Head of Marketing for its MX (Mobile eXperience) Business in India, strengthening its leadership team at a time of intense competition in the smartphone market.
Based in Gurugram, Agarwal will oversee marketing for Samsung’s mobile, tablet and wearable portfolio in India. His role will include managing product positioning, brand campaigns and marketing strategy across Samsung’s consumer devices segment.
The appointment comes during a period when smartphone brands are increasing investments in premium devices, AI-led features and offline retail expansion to strengthen market share in India. Samsung has remained one of the key players in the country’s smartphone segment, competing closely with Chinese brands and premium rivals.
Agarwal returned to Samsung India as Director of Marketing and has since taken on expanded responsibilities. This marks his second stint at the company, after previously spending nearly a decade with Samsung in marketing leadership roles.
Before rejoining Samsung, Agarwal worked at Panasonic India, where he led marketing communication and brand initiatives. He has also held marketing and product-related roles at HP and Times Internet, bringing experience across consumer technology, digital platforms and brand strategy.
