New Delhi, June 25(CXO Media): Axis Bank has appointed Namrata Dubashi as its Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO), a move that comes as Indian banks accelerate the use of artificial intelligence across operations, customer service and risk management.
She joins the private lender from McKinsey & Company, where she worked on digital transformation, advanced analytics and technology-driven business initiatives. Her appointment signals Axis Bank’s growing focus on integrating AI into core banking functions rather than limiting its use to pilot projects.
The newly created leadership role will oversee the bank’s AI strategy and implementation across business units. She is expected to drive the adoption of artificial intelligence in customer-facing platforms, operational workflows, risk assessment systems and internal decision-making processes.
Banks across India have been increasing investments in AI to improve operational efficiency, automate processes and strengthen customer engagement. The technology is also being used to enhance fraud detection, credit assessment and personalised banking services.
