New Delhi, June 17(CXO Media): Bigbasket has appointed Amit Nanda as its Chief Executive Officer, bringing in an executive with experience across e-commerce, consumer goods, banking, sales and marketing at a time when competition in India’s online grocery and digital commerce market continues to intensify.
He joins Bigbasket after nearly 12 years at Amazon, where he most recently served as Director, Selling Partner Services. In that role, he worked on initiatives related to marketplace operations and seller engagement across Amazon India.
Bigbasket, backed by Tata Digital, remains one of the country’s largest online grocery platforms and faces growing competition from quick-commerce and e-commerce players. Before Amazon, he held senior marketing leadership positions at Citi India, overseeing retail banking and cards businesses. He also spent nine years at Unilever, where he managed brands across food and beverage categories.
According to the company, he will lead Bigbasket’s next phase of growth with a focus on customer experience, operational execution and business expansion.
