5C Network has launched Prodigi, an artificial intelligence-powered platform that uses cutting-edge technology to ensure that no radiology image goes unreported for more than 2-3 hours. This cutting-edge platform enables large-scale teleradiology and allows diagnostic centers and hospitals to submit scans and access reports directly on the cloud-based platform. Recognizing the increasing reliance on radiology for diagnosis, monitoring, and prognosis, 5C Network believes Prodigi will go a long way toward reducing the burden on radiologists and referring doctors. The cutting-edge platform compresses radiology scan images without compromising image quality. The platform is simple to use and can be accessed through both desktop and mobile devices.
Borderless Radiology, 5CNetwork’s flagship teleradiology service, is built on the Prodigi platform. Breaking down geographical barriers, 5C provides radiologist interpretation of X-ray, CT, MRI, Mammogram, and Nuclear Medicine images, directing the scanned images to the most appropriate, qualified radiologist for the study. What is noteworthy is that by this remarkable innovation of Prodigi, 5C Network has brought massive scalability to the hitherto person-dependent teleradiology practice.
Kalyan Sivasailam, CEO and Co-Founder, 5C Network, said, “With growth and advances in the medical field, radiology has today become a significant aspect of diagnosis. Now there is a huge supply-demand gap of radiologists, and it is technological advancements that help cater to the need, and address the shortage of radiology experts. Harnessing the power of technology, with Prodigi we are trying to ensure that no radiology image is left unattended in the country for longer than 2-3 hours. It also enables accurate and timely diagnosis across several modalities.”
A hospital or diagnostic center can easily upload a digital image to the Prodigi platform. An AI reads the image and assigns it to radiologists based on their experience and expertise. Radiologists can directly report on the platform and make annotations on it. It also provides speech-to-text functionality when needed, as well as standardized report templates that save a lot of time.
5C Network is building the country’s largest, organized network of radiologists from various specializations and expertise using the power of the Prodigi platform. It already has over 400 radiologists who regularly report on the platform, ensuring that the service is available to clients around the clock. 5C Network currently serves 1500 active clients in 300 cities across India, with radiologists spread across 58 locations. The company’s goal is to grow by 50-100 percent year on year.
Sivasailam further stated that the distribution of radiologists across the country is uneven, with nearly 70 percent based in 6-7 states and the remainder scattered across the country. Whereas demand is distributed more evenly across 500 locations. In the field of radiology, this has resulted in a supply-demand asymmetry. As a result, hiring a radiologist can be costly in some areas, while radiologists are scarce in others. The technology they provide flattens the playing field and significantly reduces asymmetry. They intend to remove the element of uncertainty from teleradiology reporting.
