ONDC and Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today to further expand the partnership and accelerate eCommerce adoption in the state. JKTPO, a Government of India undertaking, is set up as a joint venture to build, support, maintain, increase and promote trade-related activities and infrastructure in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
This association will strengthen joint advocacy and support efforts to accelerate the onboarding of sellers or seller service providers from among MSMEs, E-Commerce Companies, Artisans, FPOs, and Logistics companies to the ONDC network.
The signing event happened on 25th August, the opening day of the 8th India International MSME Start-up Expo and Summit -2022 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi with Dr. Devansh Yadav Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO), and Shireesh Joshi, Chief Business Officer, ONDC respectively on behalf of JKTPO and ONDC.
T. Koshy, MD & CEO, ONDC, said, “The success of ONDC network depends on broadscale participation and in particular we are keen to create easy access for small and medium-sized enterprises to digital commerce. As we join hands with JKTPO, which aims at building and promoting trade in the state, this initiative will serve as a driving force to initiate the participation of all stakeholders in the growing eCommerce ecosystem through the ONDC network”.
Dr. Devansh Yadav, MD, JKTPO, said, “Jammu and Kashmir have tremendous potential in Service Sectors, Horticulture Products, Handicrafts, Handlooms and other traditional sectors which contributes significantly towards the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. Collaboration with ONDC will strengthen the digital ecosystem of the Jammu and Kashmir, provide forward linkages to even small-sized enterprises and more choices to consumers”.
