The Uttar Pradesh government is going to set up the state’s first all-women university in Gorakhpur. The university will be established on a 100-acre land.
The district magistrate reportedly said that a Bengaluru-based multinational company, Sobha Limited, will be investing Rs 700 crore in the establishment of the university under its Corporate Social Res (CSR) fund.
Last month, a delegation of the company had a discussion with the divisional commissioner of the Gorakhpur district who proposed to set up the university, the report said.
The officials of Gorakhput district have selected the land for the setting up of the university on the Gorakhpur-Varanasi highway. After its establishment, the university will become the fifth university in the state.
