Chandigarh: IAS officer Vijoy Kumar Singh, from the 1990-batch, has been appointed as the Special Chief Secretary to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Singh, who was on a central deputation, has been repatriated to Punjab to fill the position left vacant since July after the retirement of IAS officer Venu Prasad, the former Additional Secretary.
Prior to his new role, Singh served in the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare at the Centre. His experience includes roles such as Special Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles and Joint Secretary at the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).
