Srinagar: IAS officer Jatin Kishore recently took charge as the Director of the Department of Information & Public Relations in Jammu & Kashmir. A New Delhi native, Kishore was recently transferred to J&K during a major reshuffle and is replacing previous Director Minga Sherpa, who has been reassigned as Deputy Commissioner Baramulla.
Kishore secured an impressive All India Rank of 2 in the 2020 UPSC Civil Service Examination. A graduate of St. Stephen’s College at Delhi University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, he further earned a Master’s degree in Economics from the prestigious Delhi School of Economics.
IAS officer Mohammad Aijaz Asad, from the 2012 batch, has been appointed as the Administrative Secretary, Planning Development and Monitoring Department, J&K. He has also been given the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Civil Aviation Department until further orders. Asad was previously serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar.
Asad is also an Urdu poet recognised for his works in political satire and romance. He is an alumnus of IIT Delhi and has worked at Engineers India Limited. His prior designations include SDM of Khansahib Sub-Division in Budgam district, Deputy/Additional Secretary to CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Deputy Commissioner of Ramban, and Deputy Commissioner of Shopian.
