Patna: The Bihar government has announced a major administrative reshuffle, affecting 14 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across the state. The General Administration Department (GAD) issued the notification, detailing the new assignments and transfers, with 11 officers awaiting further postings.
Among the significant changes, IAS Sumit Kumar (2019 batch), who was serving as the City Commissioner of Saran, has been appointed as the new Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) of Bettiah. IAS Preeti (2019 batch), previously the DDC of Khagaria, is now the new City Commissioner of Bhagalpur. IAS Naveen Kumar (2019 batch), formerly the City Commissioner of Muzaffarpur, has taken on the role of DDC, Gaya.
Other notable appointments include:
- – IAS Yatendra Kumar Pal, who transitions from his position as the City Commissioner of Rohtas to DDC, Saran.
- – IAS Vikram Veerkar, previously the DDC of Ara, has been named the new City Commissioner of Muzaffarpur.
- – IAS Priyanka Rani, former DDC of Saran, has been reassigned as the DDC of Nawada.
- – IAS Deepak Kumar Mishra, who served as the DDC of Nawada, will now be the City Commissioner of Nalanda.
- – IAS Shreshta Anupam (2020 batch), has been appointed as the new DDC of Muzaffarpur.
This reshuffle is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to enhance administrative efficiency and governance. The newly assigned officers are expected to bring their expertise and leadership to their new roles, contributing to the overall development of Bihar.
