New Delhi: The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) has introduced the Partnerships for Accelerated Innovation and Research (PAIR) program to boost research and innovation across Indian universities. The program, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020, uses a “hub and spoke” mentorship model to foster collaboration between top-tier institutions (hubs) and emerging universities (spokes).
Initially, the top 25 NIRF-ranked institutions and Institutions of National Importance will serve as hubs, guiding public universities, select NITs, and IIITs. This initiative aims to bridge research capacity gaps and enhance India’s R&D ecosystem.
Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), ANRF, highlighted the program’s transformative role in enabling systematic research advancement. Eligible universities can apply online. The program will be expanded in the future to include other universities and institutions in the subsequent phases.
