New Delhi: Joydeep Dasgupta has been appointed as the Director (Production) at NMDC Ltd and NMDC Steel Ltd, starting November 15, 2024. His term will run until April 2028 or until further notice.
Dasgupta brings over 30 years of experience in the mining and steel industries. He began his career as a Management Trainee at SAIL in 1991 and worked his way up to Executive Director (Mines). At SAIL, he handled key areas like operations, maintenance, and material handling.
He also served as CEO of International Coal Ventures Pvt. Ltd. (ICVL), managing coal operations in Mozambique and ensuring the supply of coking coal to Indian companies. His global experience includes technical training in Austria and participation in management programs in Paris. He has represented India in international meetings in Russia and Siberia, focusing on coal sourcing.
Dasgupta is known for his focus on new technologies and actively collaborates with industry experts to keep up with the latest trends. His appointment is expected to strengthen NMDC’s production efforts as the company looks to expand its capabilities.
