Tembo Global Industries Ltd. has secured a ₹595 crore contract from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for developing solar photovoltaic power stations. The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) under Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 will support the installation of solar power stations with a total capacity of 124 MW (AC), part of the PM-KUSUM scheme’s initiative for feeder-level solarisation.
The project is set to begin execution following the signing of the contract, with a completion timeline of 18 months. “Tembo Global has a rich legacy in the manufacturing and industrial sector,” said Sanjay Patel, Managing Director, Tembo Global. “We wanted to optimise our talent pool to offer solutions in the MEP segment of the solar energy market. This contract with MSEDCL bears testament to Tembo’s capacity and capability to deliver value in the MEP segment of the Solar sector.”
Tembo Global recently announced its entry into the solar energy sector in the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) segment, aiming to enhance productivity in this growing sector. “As the energy scenario continues to undergo change to meet the demand of India’s economy, our company sees value in the MEP segment with knowledge-led solutions. We aim to create solutions for clients that optimise operations and reduce costs,” Patel added.
Tembo will initiate procurement orders under the PPA framework and anticipates further agreements with government organisations. The company, with its experience in engineering mechanics, design calculations, and project execution across multiple sectors, aims to make contributions to the expanding solar energy market in India, which targets around 300 GW of solar capacity by 2030.
