New Delhi, Oct 28(APAC Media): Apple has launched its new M6-powered MacBook Pro and iMac, focusing on faster on-device AI performance. The new devices start at $1,999 and $1,499, respectively.
The company unveiled the 14-inch MacBook Pro and the updated iMac on Tuesday, October 27. Customers in 35 countries and regions, including the US, can pre-order both products from Wednesday, with sales beginning on November 6.
Apple M6 MacBook Pro: Performance And Price
The 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,999. Apple says the laptop delivers up to 30% faster graphics performance and up to 25% faster AI performance than its M5 predecessor. The company also claims battery life of up to 24 hours.
The M6 chip is central to Apple’s latest push to run more AI tasks directly on its devices, reducing reliance on cloud-based processing for supported workloads.
New iMac Offers Faster On-Device AI
The new iMac starts at $1,499. Apple says it delivers up to five times faster on-device AI performance than the previous M4-powered model. The company has not provided further performance figures in the announcement details available.
The launches come a day before Apple’s October 28 event in Los Angeles, called “Pro and tell.” Bloomberg News has reported that the event is expected to feature the company’s first touchscreen MacBook Pro.
The new products put Apple’s M6 chip and on-device AI capabilities at the centre of its latest Mac lineup, as the company continues to expand AI processing on its own hardware.
