New Delhi, Oct 27(APAC Media): Land Rover has cut the Defender 110’s starting price to Rs. 99 lakh following local assembly in India.
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has introduced the locally assembled Defender 110 at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs. 99 lakh, down from Rs. 1.35 crore for the earlier completely built-up import (CBU) version.
The locally assembled range includes three powertrain options across the P300 petrol, P400 petrol and D350 diesel variants. All three come with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Defender 90 and Defender 130 will continue to be imported as CBU models.
The 2.0-litre petrol engine produces 296 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. The 3.0-litre petrol engine delivers 394 bhp and 550 Nm, while the 3.0-litre diesel unit generates 346 bhp and 700 Nm.
JLR has also made up to 29 features standard across the locally assembled range. The price reduction and additional standard equipment change the value proposition of the Defender 110 in India’s luxury SUV market.
The variant-wise ex-showroom prices are:
Defender 110 2.0 Petrol X-Dynamic HSE: Rs. 99 lakh
Defender 110 3.0 Petrol X-Dynamic HSE: Rs. 1.18 crore
Defender 110 3.0 Diesel X-Dynamic HSE: Rs. 1.18 crore
The locally assembled Defender 110 is now available at a lower entry price, while buyers seeking the 90 or 130 body styles will continue to get the imported versions. All prices are ex-showroom and may vary with optional equipment and other applicable charges.
