New Delhi:Â Senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Maimun Alam has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Steel under the Central Staffing Scheme. Alam, a 2007-batch IRS (Income Tax) officer, was selected for central deputation following a recommendation by the Department of Revenue.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Alam will serve in this position for a period of five years from the date she assumes charge or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier. The order further directs her immediate relief from her current duties to take up her new assignment.
With a distinguished career in tax administration and policy formulation, Alam has contributed significantly to revenue management and financial governance. Her experience in handling complex fiscal matters is expected to benefit the Ministry of Steel in strategic planning and policy execution.
The Ministry of Steel plays a crucial role in shaping India’s steel sector policies, and Alam’s expertise is anticipated to strengthen its initiatives aimed at promoting growth and sustainability in the industry.
