Chennai: Redington Limited has partnered with Eastman Auto & Power Limited to distribute solar inverters, batteries, and storage systems across India, aiming to support the country’s growing clean energy infrastructure. The collaboration brings together Redington’s national distribution network and Eastman’s locally manufactured solar solutions, aligning with India’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat and Make in India policies. Under the agreement, Redington will distribute Eastman’s solar products, such as lithium batteries, solar inverters, and panels to system integrators across the country.
According to Pradeep Srikanthan, Business Head at Redington Solar, this partnership is expected to strengthen local supply chains and ease access to domestic products necessary for beneficiaries under government-backed subsidy schemes like the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. The scheme provides financial assistance to households for rooftop solar installations but mandates the use of Made-in-India components to qualify for subsidies.
Srikanthan noted that Redington has supplied products for over 3 GW worth of solar installations to more than 5,000 integrators in the last decade, and the addition of Eastman products is expected to expand options for integrators working on subsidy-linked projects. Eastman Auto & Power Limited, known for its manufacturing of solar modules and energy storage systems, brings a broad product portfolio to the table. Managing Director Shekhar Singal said the collaboration with Redington would help make solar technology more accessible and aligned with India’s clean energy roadmap.
Industry experts view the partnership as part of a larger trend in the solar sector, where distributors and manufacturers are aligning to meet demand driven by government targets and growing interest in decentralized solar adoption. With India aiming to install 40 GW of rooftop solar capacity and reduce import dependency, tie-ups like these are expected to become more common, especially as policy frameworks increasingly favor domestic manufacturing.
