New Delhi: The Global cybersecurity company Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. has signed a program agreement with Chandigarh University to offer students access to the Check Point SecureAcademy educational program.
The collaboration intends to meet India’s increasing need for qualified experts in the industry by providing students with globally acknowledged certificates and practical cybersecurity abilities.
Chandigarh University, a NAAC A+ Grade and QS World-Ranked institution, will integrate Check Point’s advanced training resources, valued at $60,000 annually, into its curriculum. These include software tools, eBooks, online learning modules, guest lectures and participation in international community events.
The program will initially train about 100 students, beginning in January 2026, during the university’s Winter School session. Students will enjoy unlimited access to eBooks and an 85 per cent discount on certification exams, paying just $45 instead of $300.
Under the collaboration, Chandigarh University faculty will also undergo specialised training led by Check Point experts. Learners will gain hands-on experience through lab sessions and exposure to real-world cybersecurity technologies, ensuring they graduate job-ready.
The initiative allows universities to build their own on-premise or cloud-based lab setups using Check Point’s software and guides.
Highlighting the initiative, Sundar Balasubramanian, Managing Director of Check Point Software Technologies (India & South Asia), said the program aims to bridge India’s severe cybersecurity skill gap amid rapid digital transformation.
Meanwhile, Prof. (Dr.) Sachin Ahuja, Executive Director – Engineering at Chandigarh University, said the partnership reflects the university’s commitment to combining academic excellence with industry expertise to prepare students for digital-era challenges.
