New Delhi: Rajasthan Chief Secretary IAS Sudhansh Pant has been transferred to Delhi and appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. According to the central government’s order, Pant will assume charge on 1 December, following the superannuation of incumbent secretary Amit Yadav on 30 November.
A 1991-batch IAS officer, Pant’s transfer just months before his scheduled retirement in February 2027 has sparked speculation in administrative and political circles. The move comes less than two years after he was brought back to the Rajasthan cadre in December 2023, following a change in the state’s political leadership.
Before returning to Rajasthan, Pant served as Secretary in the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry. He was known for his strong administrative expertise and close working relationship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
