Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has announced plans to roll out a new policy aimed at strengthening the state’s presence in the AYUSH sector, according to an official statement issued on 12 December.
The proposed policy seeks to attract investment by offering a range of incentives and positioning the state as a centre for AYUSH research, testing, and certification.
Under the policy, facilities at AYUSH hospitals across the state will be upgraded, while measures will be taken to ensure the continuous development of the AYUSH department. Investors will be offered benefits such as capital subsidies, stamp duty exemptions on land purchases and special concessions for new projects to speed up industry growth and promote AYUSH globally.
Principal Secretary of the AYUSH Department Ranjan Kumar said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to expand AYUSH-related businesses and prepare a comprehensive master plan. The policy will emphasise traditional practices such as Panchakarma, naturopathy and wellness centres.
The initiative also aims to expand healthcare access through public-private partnerships, introduce new AYUSH-related courses, create employment opportunities, and enhance the global profile of AYUSH wellness systems.
