Mumbai: Titan Company Limited has appointed senior IAS Sandhya Venugopal Sharma as the Chairperson and Additional Director on its Board, marking a significant leadership transition at the Tata Group-backed company.
The appointment follows a nomination by the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), one of Titan’s joint venture partners.
According to an exchange filing, Titan’s Board approved Sharma’s appointment through a Circular Resolution, which received the requisite majority approval. Her appointment will come into effect from 4th January, 2026.
With this development, Sandhya Venugopal Sharma will succeed IAS Arun Roy as the Chairperson of the Board. While Roy will step down from the chairperson’s role, he will continue to serve as a Director on Titan’s Board, ensuring leadership continuity and institutional stability.
A 1995-batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, Sharma brings nearly three decades of experience in governance, policy formulation, and public administration. Over her career, she has held several key administrative and technical positions at both the state and central government levels.
A notable phase of her professional journey was her central deputation with the Department of Space, where she served as Joint Secretary and later as Additional Secretary in Bengaluru. Between April 2019 and October 2025, she played an important role in India’s space and science administration, gaining exposure to high-technology sectors, strategic project management, and complex institutional coordination.
Her extensive experience in managing large-scale, technology-driven programmes is expected to add strategic depth to Titan’s Board deliberations.
