Kolkata, 20 Apr, (APAC Media) : The Election Commission will leverage AI-based video analytics to monitor polling booths across West Bengal.
Control rooms have been set up at offices of returning officers, district election officers, the Chieg Electoral Officer and the EC headquarters at Nirvachan Sadan.
Each screen will display live footage from 12 boothd of an assembly constituency at a time.
Observers can access live footage on their mobile devices and rotate feeds to cover all polling stations.
All webcams will be connected to cloud storage. In addition, micro SD cards will store day-long footage locally as a backup to ensure data security.
AI can further help to identify troubled booths in real time. This will enable sector teams technicians and spare cameras to reach the troubled spots within 15-20 minutes.
