New Delhi, July 16(New Delhi): OnePlus has denied reports suggesting that it plans to shut down its business in India, saying its operations in the country continue as usual.
The clarification comes after media reports claimed the smartphone brand could wind down its business in India and several other international markets as part of an organisational restructuring. The reports followed the resignation of former OnePlus India head Robin Liu earlier this year, which had fuelled speculation about the company’s future outside China.
Company Responds To Reports
In a statement, a OnePlus India spokesperson said the company remains fully operational in India and dismissed reports of an exit as inaccurate. The spokesperson also urged people to avoid sharing unverified information.
India continues to be one of OnePlus’ largest global markets. Earlier this year, the company had also reaffirmed its commitment to the country after leadership changes raised questions about its business strategy.
What Triggered The Speculation
The latest rumours gained attention after reports suggested that OnePlus could scale back operations in Europe, the US and other overseas markets. However, the company has not announced any plans to exit India.
The clarification comes at a time when smartphone brands are facing supply chain challenges and changing market conditions, but OnePlus has maintained that its business and customer support operations in India remain unchanged.
