New Delhi, July 1 (APAC Media): Satish Kumar Sinha has taken charge as Director (Finance) of GAIL (India) Limited, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
The appointment is effective from July 1.
He was earlier serving as Executive Director (Finance & Accounts) in the same organisation before joining the Board.
Satish Kumar Sinha is a qualified Cost and Management Accountant. He brings over three decades of experience in the oil and gas sector.
His career spans multiple senior roles in finance and accounts.
His expertise includes corporate finance and corporate accounts. He has also worked in management accounting and investor relations.
His experience extends to taxation, treasury, and banking operations. He has handled costing, budgeting, project evaluation, and mergers and acquisitions.
Sinha started his career at GAIL in 1994 as a Management Trainee (Finance & Accounts). Over the years, he has held several key positions in the finance vertical.
He has helped strengthen GAIL’s financial systems. He has also improved investor engagement and financial decision-making.
His work includes cost optimisation, investment appraisal, and treasury management.
He has also contributed to digital transformation at GAIL. This includes SAP implementation, process automation, and centralisation of finance operations.
Beyond GAIL, Sinha has served on the boards of GAIL Global Singapore Pte. Limited and GAIL Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited.
He contributed to strategic and operational decisions in these companies.
Sinha has received several professional recognitions. He ranked second in Asia in the IR Professional category in the Extel Asia Survey 2026.
He has also been recognised by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India for excellence in finance leadership.
In an official statement, GAIL said Sinha’s experience and strategic insight will strengthen its financial position.
It added that his leadership has supported stronger reporting systems, investor relations, and shareholder value creation.
