Noida, July 1 (APAC Media): Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices were reduced by ₹5 per litre on Wednesday, marking the first decline after a recent surge driven by geopolitical tensions in West Asia, according to media reports.
The revision by state-run oil marketing companies comes amid easing global crude oil prices, which had earlier spiked due to concerns over supply disruptions linked to conflicts in the Middle East.

The latest cut reflects a softening in international benchmarks as supply risks moderate.
Following the reduction, ATF prices in Delhi are now around ₹110 per litre. Similar adjustments have been made in other major cities in line with local tax structures.
Industry officials said the price cut is linked to improved stability in global oil markets, with crude rates easing after weeks of volatility.
The earlier surge had been triggered by heightened tensions in key energy transit routes, including concerns around shipping lanes in West Asia.
The reduction is expected to provide partial relief to airlines, for whom fuel costs account for a significant share of overall operating expenditure.

However, industry observers noted that any immediate impact on airfares will depend on demand trends and airline pricing decisions.
This marks the first downward revision in ATF prices after a series of increases in recent months, which had added pressure on airline balance sheets and contributed to higher operational costs across the aviation sector.
Alongside ATF, prices of commercial LPG were also reduced in the latest pricing review, indicating a broader easing in energy input costs.
Market analysts said further price movements will largely depend on global crude oil trends, OPEC+ production decisions, and geopolitical developments in the coming weeks.
The aviation sector, which had been facing cost pressures due to elevated fuel prices, is expected to get some respite if the downward trend in crude oil continues.
