New Delhi, Sep 30(APAC Media): ACI Worldwide and Cognizant have tested ACI’s BASE24-eps card-processing platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS), processing more than 4.6 million transactions without a failure during the test.
The companies conducted the performance test in a non-production environment to assess how BASE24-eps handles sustained transaction volumes on AWS. During a 30-minute test, the platform handled more than twice its target transaction load without a failed transaction.
The test used Amazon EC2 and Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, with transaction and system monitoring through Amazon CloudWatch. OpenTelemetry was also used for observability, allowing the teams to track transaction flow, system health and throughput during testing.
Cognizant handled the deployment and testing process, including architecture design, environment setup and installation of BASE24-eps. The deployment was automated to reduce manual configuration during the setup.
The results are relevant to banks considering cloud-based payment infrastructure, particularly during periods of high transaction demand. However, the companies said the test does not represent a production deployment. Further work would be required for availability-zone resilience, failover, disaster recovery, security hardening and payment network certification.
The companies said the testing was intended to assess whether BASE24-eps could be deployed on AWS and sustain its targeted transaction load using managed cloud services.
