New Delhi, Sep 23(APAC Media): ACI Worldwide has added support for payments orchestrated through Swift’s ledger to its ACI Connetic payments platform, allowing banks to manage tokenized deposit transactions alongside traditional payment flows.
Swift Ledger And Tokenized Payments
The move comes as banks begin testing blockchain-based payment infrastructure for cross-border transactions. Swift has said 17 banks across six continents are piloting use cases for its ledger, which is designed to support the movement of tokenized deposits across institutions and time zones.
ACI said its integration will allow banks to route, monitor and reconcile Swift ledger transactions through the same operating environment used for other payment types. This is aimed at reducing the need for separate processes and systems for digital-asset payments.
Payment Orchestration For Banks
ACI Connetic uses rules defined by banks and their customers to select payment and settlement routes based on factors such as cost, speed and availability. The company said the platform will now extend these capabilities to payments using tokenized deposits.
For banks, the development comes as tokenized deposits move beyond early trials and into wider production use. Integrating these transactions with existing payment operations could help institutions avoid creating separate workflows for digital-asset transactions.
ACI Worldwide executives will also discuss the Swift ledger and its use in production payment environments at Sibos. The company is scheduled to demonstrate its payment routing capabilities at its stand during the event.
