Senior IAS officer Gaurav Dwivedi has been appointed the CEO of public broadcaster Prasar Bharati. A 1995-batch officer of Chhattisgarh cadre, Dwivedi will have a five-year tenure from the date he assumes charge. He replaced Mayank Agrawal, Director General of Doordarshan, who was given the additional charge of CEO Prasar Bharati in June this year. This was following the retirement of Shashi Shekhar Vempati who was the CEO of Prasar Bharati from 2017 to 2022.
“The terms and conditions of his appointment shall be governed by the provisions of the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act, 1990 and the rules made thereunder as amended from time to time,” said an order issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He has also been a faculty member at the IAS Training Academy, LBSNAA, Mussoorie. Dwivedi is a recipient of the Prime Minster’s Award for Excellence in Administration.
