Noida, Oct 9(APAC Media): The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved a proposal to rename Jewar airport as Narendra Modi International Airport.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the decision during a press conference in Lucknow. The proposed name change puts the upcoming airport in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar district, in focus as Uttar Pradesh continues to develop its aviation infrastructure.
Jewar Airport Name Change
The Cabinet’s approval marks a key step in the proposed renaming. The airport is widely known as Noida International Airport and is being developed in Jewar, near the Delhi-NCR region. The proposal concerns its official name; the announcement does not, by itself, establish that all formal naming procedures have been completed.
During the press conference, CM Yogi Adityanath also referred to initiatives related to Uttar Pradesh’s religious and cultural heritage. These included the hoisting of a religious flag at a temple, the expansion of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and a direct connection through the Ganga Path.
He also mentioned Piparwan in the Buddhist region and the Kumbh Mela held in Prayagraj.
The proposed renaming of Jewar airport is the main announcement from the briefing. Further official details on the naming process and its implementation will clarify when the new name will come into formal use.
