New Delhi: The Central Government recently granted approval for the appointment of IAS officer Rugved Milind Thakur to the position of Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat. As per an order released by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on the same day, Thakur will assume the role under the Central Staffing Scheme for a tenure of four years, effective from the date of assuming office or until further directives, whichever occurs first.
Thakur, a 2011-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre, currently serves as the Director of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and concurrently holds the position of Ex-officio Special Secretary (Panchayati Raj) to the Government of Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, he has been given the supplementary responsibility of Managing Director at HP Power Transmission Corporation Limited.
