New Delhi: IIT Kanpur and the Indian Navy have officially entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Naval Headquarters in New Delhi outlining a shared interest in the academic exchange of scientific research activities, particularly in Engineering related to defence technologies.
The agreement serves as a comprehensive framework, facilitating capacity building, addressing field-level challenges, and enhancing training effectiveness through the exchange of faculty and guest lectures.
Rear Admiral K Srinivas, Assistant Chief of Material (Dockyard & Refits), and Professor S Ganesh, Director of IIT Kanpur, sealed the deal as the signatories of this strategic partnership.
Recognised for its pioneering research and technological advancements, IIT Kanpur is set to apply its expertise to tackle the practical challenges encountered by the Indian Navy. The collaboration is focused on joint Research and Development initiatives, involving teams from the Centre of Excellence in Marine Engineering at INS Shivaji, Lonavla, and IIT Kanpur.
