New Delhi: IBM, US-based IT giant, is set to acquire German software company Software AG’s enterprise technology platforms for $2.33 billion. The deal is aimed at enhancing its artificial intelligence and hybrid cloud offerings.
The purchase will be funded with IBM’s available cash, and includes Software AG’s StreamSets and webMethods platforms, known for their application integration, API management, and data integration capabilities.
StreamSets, which enables the ingestion of large volumes of data for AI system training, will integrate with Watsonx, IBM’s AI and data platform. Meanwhile, webMethods will provide clients and partners with additional tools for managing application planning interfaces in hybrid multi-cloud environments.
The transaction is dependent on regulatory approvals and is anticipated to conclude in the second quarter of 2024.
