New Delhi: In a special event organised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, the Secretary, MeitY, S Krishnan, honoured and acknowledged the significant contribution of women in the Electronics Manufacturing Industry.
The event was attended by over 250 women workers from leading companies such as Samsung, Wistron, Dixon, Pegatron, and VVDN. Krishnan commended the women workers for their indispensable qualities that contribute to the success and dynamism of the industry. He highlighted their reliability, integrity, and steadfast commitment, fostering a sense of dependability within the workplace.
The women workers mentioned feeling honoured and privileged for the invitation at Kartavya Path. Among the dignitaries present were Dr Madan Mohan Tripathi, DG, NIELIT; Dr Abhilasha Gaur, CEO, ESSCI; Girija Vedi, SVP, VVDN; and Subhanshu Tiwari, ED, NIELIT.
In conjunction with the event, NIELIT organised a special training workshop for the women workers, featuring experts from VVDN, ESSCI, and Microsoft India. The workshop aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of participants, aligning with the goals of the Digital India initiative. Key topics included expanding the ecosystem of electronics manufacturing in India and the world, as well as the ways upskilling and reskilling can contribute to bridging talent gaps in the industry.
